This appears to be a late 20th century Satsuma-style decorative piece, likely made as a Chinese or Asian export reproduction inspired by Japanese Satsuma pottery. The design is very decorative, with richly detailed gold birds among flowering branches on one side, floral panels, black ground sections, colorful flowers, butterflies, gilt borders, and raised enamel / moriage-style accents. The piece has a lovely aged ivory crackle-glaze look with colorful hand-painted style decoration and lots of display appeal for its size. Measures approx 3 inches tall and 4 inches wide . Weighs slightly less than 1 lb . It is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The decoration is almost entirely intact, with some light gold gilt wear (mostly along the rim). There is general wear and crazing to the glaze; the crazing may be intentional as part of the Satsuma-style finish, but it is noted for accuracy.
