Vintage Schreiner Iconic Brooch The "Ruffle" Pink Keystone & Pink Oval Cabochon This stunning Iconic CONFIRMED vintage designer Schreiner New York Brooch.  SCHREINER jewelry was started by Henry Schreiner, who had worked before WWI for other jewelry companies, and the pieces were hand made. Known for their high quality stones and unusual color combinations, trademarks of Schreiner jewelry are the reverse setting of rhinestones (point up instead of point down), the hook and eye back construction and the "donut" clips on the earring backs. Large, colorful and eye-catching, these are favorites of most rhinestone jewelry collectors. In Fall of 2020 prices for this maker’s pieces suddenly soared for some reason with brooches selling for $1,000-2,500, and the famous ruffles for $5,000 and over. This here is one on the most popular and iconic Schreiner's designed brooch, The "ruffle" its composed of of undulating lowered keystones, which surround an oval center. First designed by Ambros in 1957, their unique settings were originally flat, carefully bent into form to achieve their rippling shape.  The distinctive 'keystone" was a custom order from Europe and is a signature design element of Schreiner's.  These brooches went unsigned as many of Schreiner's other designed also where not signed. The brooch is in great vintage condition, again with soft pink keystones, pink inverted rhinestones bordering a stunning oval shaped pink givre or marbleized oval glass cabochon. The backing is in a gold tone color and has a vail hook with a pink clasp to be worn as a pendant or brooch c.1950's,  please view all pictures. Schreiner's jewelry although found, are very difficult and rare to find and more difficult to find them signed and in great condition as this one is. Brooch is a signed book piece by Schreiner New York and has all original glass gems, You can see this rare gem listed in the "Schreiner - Master of 20th-Century Costume Jewelry" by Carole Tanenbaum and Eve Townsend, page 19, 80, 81, 82, 83 and 84, for your reference. All items are from high end estate sales or from original owners. Brooch is a large slightly over 2.5'' oval shaped all gems are present and original to this schreiner's book piece, comes with strong pin clasp and chain hook vail by SCHREINER. Note  Items are all from estate sales in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach Florida.
