The hand painted floral sprays are beautiful and strategically placed on a light yellow band on both pieces The darker yellow narrow band next to the rims is outlined in a thin black trim. The handles, the handle on the lid, and the rims are all highlighted in gold. In all cases, the area between the light yellow and the white is trimmed in a thin line of green. The shape is so eye-catching and they appear to have never been used. CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, we can find no chips, nicks, scratches, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. There is no wear to the glaze and no crazing. Look at the 6th photo on the sugar near the handle to see a tiny spot where there is flake of the gold paint. Please carefully inspect the photos to see how good the condition of this set is. DIMENSIONS: The creamer has a height of 3 3/16", a diameter of 4", and the measurement handle to spout is 5 1/2". The sugar bowl has a height of 4" with the cover in place, a diameter of 5 3/8", and handle to handle the measurement is 5 3/4". . HISTORY/MARKS: Meito China was in operation from 1908-1970's. In 1908, Kotero Asukai, who was a former employee of Noritake, founded the Nagoya Seito Sho Company which operated until sold during WWII and the name changed to Narumi Seito Sho. The Meito China mark continued to be used with variations in the crown mark. Since many Noritake artisans joined Asukai, the hand painted porcelain shows a marked resemblance to Noritake. This mark is identified by the website marks4ceramics as mark #4 used in the 1950's-1970's time period. . Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
