The lower body has a hand-hammered surface, while the tapered stem is decorated with an attractive repeating engraved/tooled foliate and scroll design. The combination of hammered copper, hand decoration and simple architectural form is characteristic of Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau-era decorative metalwork. Unmarked on the underside. Exact maker and origin are unknown. The vase retains its original aged surface with warm brown/copper patina and areas of oxidation, including green verdigris inside the opening.
