Beautiful vintage natural stone statement necklace featuring substantial polished banded agate beads in shades of black, charcoal gray, smoky brown, honey, cream and translucent gray. The focal portion features three large polished rectangular stone beads with dramatic natural-looking banding, color variation and inclusions. Oval and round polished stone beads complete the graduated design, with small gold-tone spacer accents adding contrast. The stones are cool to the touch and are believed to be natural agate/chalcedony based on their appearance and physical characteristics. They have not been professionally gemologically tested. The necklace is finished with an unusual vintage gold-tone ball-and-socket snap clasp marked “PAT 2007” and “USA PAT 4074400.” These markings refer to U.S. Patent 4,074,400 for this style of jewelry fastening and are not a maker's signature or a 2007 date.
