View Vintage Hand Carved Soapstone (??) Pitcher Vase Cream Natural Stone Decor with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. This vintage hand-carved stone pitcher vase is a unique and natural addition to any home decor, with its natural and understated colors. I believe it's soapstone, but then sometimes I think it could be marble based on the brown veins that highlight the piece. I'm not a stone expert by any means!  What I do know is that it has a beautiful and unique look, and someone took a lot of time and effort to carve this into a usable piece. As you can see in the pix it has a small spout that almost reminds me of an elephant tusk.  It's 2.75 lbs without any liquid it in, so perhaps not the most practical--or lightest vessel--I've used it as a decorative piece for many years.
