The design looks so classic. The cup & saucer have a bright gold wide band of encrusted gold on the outside rim. The color splash next to the gold band is a dark cobalt blue. Below that is a cute pastel floral spray with pink, yellow and blue flowers with green leaves. The handle is trimmed in gold on the front side of the right handed cups. This is very common in cup/mug decorations for right handed items. Both the cup and saucer are smooth rimmed. This makes a beautiful display set or can be used everyday. CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, the condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. There are no utensil marks & no wear to the gold. DIMENSIONS: The cup has a diameter of 2 1/4" with a height of 2 1/4". The saucer has a diameter of 4 5/8" and height of 9/16". HISTORY/MARKS: Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1814 in Hohenberg an der Eger, Bavaria and his son, Lorenz Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1857 in Selb, Bavaria. This latter company acquired P.T. Porcelain Factory in 1927 and then in 1969 was merged with the former company and continued operation as Hutschenreuther AG (Selb, Bavaria) until 1994 when the Tirschenreuth factory was closed due to bankruptcy. This set has the underglaze "Z.Co." mark on it for Zehendner & Company. The P. T. Bavaria Porcelain Factory Tirschenreuth was founded in 1838 in Tirshenreuth, Bavaria. After Hutschenreuther purchased the pottery in 1927, the mark was modified. The mark on this is cited by the website marks4ceramics as mark #15 (with Germany) used 1940-present time period.
