He Has A Wool Beard Which Has 2 Straw 'Arms' and 'Hands' Going Straight Across It. The straw is quite delicate- not brittle and NOT shedding or falling out, but he should be handled with care as it is fine straw and will break or pull out if handled roughly.   Vintage RUSSIAN BEARDED MAN 1930s HANDMADE Cloth & Wood Doll Figure Folk Art Made From Wood Body, Head and Feet With A covering Of Finely Spun Straw As Cape And Cloak Which Covers Him Completely He Has A Wool Beard Which Has 2 Straw 'Arms' and 'Hands' Going Straight Across It Great Hand Painted Expression He is wearing a really unique and interesting red hat, very tall and tassled on top, made of cloth which is stuffed. He is free standing and stands on black large wooden feet with flat bottoms. His body is on a wood frame, material tied over it and then covered with the straw cloak. 2 sides of cloak where the arms would be can be moved or adjusted, but they are meant to hang straight down. This is a VERY unusual piece   Size Approx. 12" Tall from feet to tip of hat, 6" Wide, and 4"Deep Very Good Condition  No damage or repairs, in wonderful shape for his age. The straw is quite delicate- not brittle and NOT shedding or falling out, but he should be handled with care as it is fine straw and will break or pull out if handled roughly. His hat is in fantastic undamaged condition except for the fact that due to his age and being displayed, the red color has faded VERY noticeably on the back part of the hat, from red to almost pale white/pink. Front of his hat is still 'red' but is a faded red. See pics. Paint on his face in excellent shape, no damage to wood.
