A stunning piece of hand blown glass Artistry. The actual glass is clear, and shows through the marbled-effect silver coating here and there. Glass is quite thick and heavy- he is weighted and very sturdy with a smooth finish.   Vintage HAND BLOWN MOLDED SILVER MERCURY GLASS SANTA CLAUSE Tabletop Figurine 13.75" Approx. 13.75" high x 6.25" wide at widest [hem of coat]. Base approx. 5.75" x 4.25" A very large size, perfect as a centerpiece, mantle or table-top decoration.   A stunning piece of hand blown glass Artistry. Created by blowing into a Santa-shaped mold and hand painted on the inside of the glass with a silvery [golden undertones] Mercury coating.  The actual glass is clear, and shows through the marbled-effect silver coating here and there. Glass is quite thick and heavy- he is weighted and very sturdy with a smooth finish. Light can pass though this figurine, which is lovely. Photo #10 shows him held up to a light to demonstrate.   Since the metallic silver coloration is on the INSIDE of Santa, handling him or displaying him will not cause the finish to dull, crumble away, or flake off      This piece is amazing and so unique  Details on the face and body are superb- a gentle smiling expression with his hands clutching his belt in the classic Santa pose    In excellent PRISTINE unworn/ unfaded/ undamaged condition. No nicks chips cracks scratches dullness or cloudiness. No wear or tarnish to interior.
