Original vintage 1960s color photograph showing three African American women standing together outside a residential neighborhood. The photograph has excellent period detail, including 1960s automobiles, sunglasses, hairstyles, clothing, single-family homes, driveways, sidewalks and landscaping. The women are dressed in distinctive mid-century fashions, making this a strong example of African American vernacular photography. The automobile at left is particularly useful for dating the photograph and adds additional collector interest. The residential architecture and wide street also give the image a distinctly mid-century suburban/urban American setting. The photograph measures approximately 5¼ x 3½ inches, according to the original handwritten notation.
