There are grey ghost leaves behind the green leaves. The trim on the rim is a band of solid gold and is contrasted by the pastel blue green wide bands. The raised gold outlining forms a vine with thorns and leaves. The lid on the sugar sits on a band of solid, bright gold. All three handles are trimmed with fancy gold scrollwork. CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, the condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, crazing or hairlines. There is no wear on the gold. DIMENSIONS: The creamer maximum diameter of 3 1/8" while it is 4 3/4" handle to spout. Its height is 2 3/4". The sugar has a maximum diameter of 3 1/2" while it is 5 3/8" handle to handle. With the lid in place, its height is 4". HISTORY/MARKS: Carl Tielsch and Gideon von Wallenberg (a banker from Wroclaw) in 1845 founded the porcelain factory C. Tielsch & Co. in Altwasser, Silesia, Germany. Today this is called Stary Zdroj, a district of Walbrzych, Poland. In 1861, Tielsch was awarded the title of “Royal Trade Counsellor” to acknowledge his contribution to Silesian industry. After his death in 1882, he was succeeded by his son, Egmont. In 1918, C.M. Hutschreuther in Hohenberg acquired the majority of the company’s stock and merged the factory with its company in Hohenberg while continuing to use the C.T. Germany mark. The Tielsch factory is still producing today and is now called “Fabryka Porcelany Walbrzych S.A.” The mark on these is the spread winged eagle that was used about 1900.
