The reticulated areas have incredibly delicate small flowers and leaves painted over the top. Vintage Set 4 SCHUMANN DRESDEN Hand Painted Reticulated Porcelain FLORAL PLATES  Size 6.25" diameter with a 1.25" wide reticulated & scallop-edged border. Although technically considered 'dessert plates', these are fabulous for snack tidbits or a small dessert.  c1920s Highly collectible, getting harder and harder to find MAGNIFICENT plates such as these, let alone a set Hand painted finest quality handmade porcelain.  3 have identical bouquets featuring a pink rose with mixed multicolored flowers. One plate, while identical in every other aspect, has a pink rose and a light orange colored tulip. Reticulation, shape, size, and gold highlights are identical on all 4.  Rims have reticulated piercings meant to look like basketweave and very pretty waved rims. The reticulated areas have incredibly delicate small flowers and leaves painted over the top. Elegant and timeless pattern.   Artwork is gorgeous and painted on with very small, minute detailing and lush coloration  The tone of the porcelain on these is not a bright white but is a soft ivory, a sign of a much older plate that was NOT cheaply or quickly produced.  Excellent condition, the plate with the rose/tulip has a TINY flat flake off of the back near the edge which does NOT cut across the rim- impossible to see unless turned over, extremely minor, see last pic. Absolutely superb 'gallery quality' set.  No other nicks chips cracks scratches fading or damage.  No crazing or cutlery marks.  Some slight wear to gilding which is faint and hard to notice, normal for age.   Very Fine quality- the best of the best. From an age when craftsmanship and artistry were marvelous skills and items such as this would be treasured family heirlooms.
