Charming vintage Made in Japan figural salt & pepper shaker pair, featuring an Asian couple in colorful traditional-style clothing. The woman wears a warm orange robe while her companion wears a vivid blue jacket and pale cap. Wonderful hand-painted facial details and loads of genuine mid-century character. Both retain their cork bottom stoppers and are stamped JAPAN on the bases. Approx. 3.5" tall x 1" wide x 1" deep. Good vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. There is visible age-related paint loss, rubbing and surface wear throughout, particularly to the orange figure.
