Sophisticase Makeup Compact / Vanity Carryall with Original Black Carrying Case, Accessories and Paperwork Beautiful original mid-century Volupté Sophisticase in an exceptionally complete surviving set. The gold-tone metal compact/carryall fits into its original black fabric carrying case with handle and features an interior mirror and multiple vanity/storage compartments. This example appears to have never been used and retains original Volupté accessories and paperwork. This is a personalized name and is not being represented as a manufacturer’s mark. CONDITION Vintage unused / new old stock. The item appears never to have been used. Please keep in mind that this is an authentic vintage piece that has been stored for many decades. Despite being unused, there is visible age and storage wear, including surface scratches, spotting, discoloration/tarnish and areas of finish wear on the gold-tone metal. The mirror has age-related spotting/wear. The black fabric carrying case and handle show age and storage wear, including areas of wear along the handle/edges. No aggressive cleaning, polishing or restoration has been performed. MEASUREMENTS Approximately 4.5–4.75 inches wide. The original period paperwork describes the Sophisticase as an all-in-one carryall designed to accommodate personal items along with its vanity components.  A particularly nice example for a collector because the original carrying case, vanity accessories and Volupté paperwork have survived together with the compact.
