Amazing mid century 50s/60s original chunky Impasto oil painting. Depicts a luxurious lake side palace tucked away in the mountains between massive fur trees. Mountains can be seen at the far end of the lake on the horizon. Amazing mid century 50s/60s original chunky Impasto oil painting.  Depicts a luxurious lake side palace tucked away in the mountains between massive fur trees.  Looks to be an Italian or Mediterranean villa palace complete with gondola and vintage speedboat docked out front.  Mountains can be seen at the far end of the lake on the horizon.  Very well done with thick paint and aggressive but controlled brushstrokes.  Great use of color and capture of light and depth.  Great texture to the mountains.  Medium is oil on canvas mounted to cardboard done in a post Impressionist Impasto style.  No signature that I can note but worthy of further research. Provenance comes from a large collection of art purchased from the estate of a southern Massachusetts art dealer. In Acceptable/As Found overall condition.  Exhibits heavy toning and moderate soiling and wear.  Exhibits cracking in areas and some gentle chipping along the left edge as well as a small chip on the building.  Canvas loosely formed around cardboard and not on wood stretcher bars Measures 23 3/4” x 17 1/2”.
