This is a Vintage Miniature Secretary "Desk"   that was made as Dollhouse Furniture -or- as a Jewelry Box .  Made by MM in Japan more than 70 years ago.  Beautiful hand-painted detail.  Item shows wear from use and age (see photos).  There is also a crack along the back.  Nothing that detracts from the rustic beauty of this "almost antique" piece! The label on the back of this item seems to read, "Belonged to Mary Hall B***n.  She gave to me 40+ yrs ago.  Feb 92" .  I would guess that this gift was received some time during the late-1940s to early 1950s.  No idea how long Mary Hall B***n owned this piece previous to her "gifting" it... Measures approximately 7-5/8" tall, 5-7/8" long, and 3-1/8" wide (it is 5-1/8" wide when the desk is open). Please contact me with any questions. Condition: Used.
