Ukiyoe-Ha-Gashu is the first complete collection of Ukiyo-e in Japan that systematically contains handwritten Ukiyo-e. The first edition was published in 1906-08 and exhibited at the Japan-England Exposition (1910). T his Japanese woodblock print, titled "Beauty in the Snow," was created by artist Fujimaru. The piece features two women in kimonos walking through the snow in a winter landscape. Ukiyoe-Ha-Gashu is the first complete collection of Ukiyo-e in Japan that systematically contains handwritten Ukiyo-e. The first edition was published in 1906-08 and exhibited at the Japan-England Exposition (1910). The woodblock printing technique, which is said to have required 200 times repeated woodblocks to complete a single print, is considered worthy of special mention in the history of Japanese woodblock printing. Ukiyoe-Ha-Gashu was published in several editions, including the first edition in a limited edition of 200 copies, a top-bound edition, and a standard edition.  Measures a 11 1/8 inches and just a bit larger than 5 5/8. There is some tape damage to the upper margin not affecting the image and which would not be visible once framed and matted.
