Found as pictured at an estate sale in TX with what appears to be the original card that features a signature mark in the lower left hand corner and the text “Gold Plated” & “Price 50 cents.”. (Also, can you imagine buying gold plated jewelry for 50cents??). This antique brooch is a beautiful piece of jewelry that features a stunning bluebird design with intricate enamel detailing. Found as pictured at an estate sale in TX with what appears to be the original card that features a signature mark in the lower left hand corner and the text “Gold Plated” & “Price 50 cents.” Based on similar listings, I believe it’s from the early 1910s/20s. (Also, can you imagine buying gold plated jewelry for 50cents??). This is the only Gold Plated design I’ve come across, however , I’m going purely on what the card attached says. I did not test it for gold & would not want to damage this piece. Please review all photos carefully for condition. Looks like the enamel is missing a small piece towards the end of the left wing and there are areas along the edge where it’s been chipped. I cannot take the pin off of the backing as you’ll notice it’s a bit corroded and very oxidized by the c clasp and it seems to have become very stiff- I do not want to force it open or bend the clasp wider and risk breaking it, but for a collector for display or for someone wanting to take it to a jeweler, I’m sure it can be worn. The card is bent from people trying to see marks on the back- I took a look myself and could not see anything on initial inspection. Measures about 3 3/8 inches long and 1/2 inch at its widest point.
