Inspired by fragments excavated at Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown this jug was hand made by Virginia craftsmen using traditional techniques. The salt glaze technique was developed by the Germans potters in the 15th century and adopted in the 18th century by English and Colonial American potters, it takes approximately 25 hand operations to make every piece. Colonial Williamsburg marking at the bottome of each mug.
