Antique Japanese Kutani Porcelain Plates – Fukagawa Workshop, Meiji Period A refined set of four antique Japanese Kutani porcelain cabinet plates, hand-painted in overglaze enamels and bearing a red Fukagawa mark (深川製, “Made by Fukagawa”) to the reverse. Produced in the Fukagawa district of Arita during the late Meiji to early Taishō period (circa 1895–1915) for the Western export market. Each plate is individually decorated with elegant asymmetrical compositions featuring birds, flowering branches, peonies, chrysanthemums, maple, and stylized rockwork, rendered in a soft pastel Kutani palette of celadon green, lavender, turquoise, peach, and pale iron red. The painting is finely executed, with excellent line quality and controlled shading, characteristic of high-grade Fukagawa-area Kutani export ware.
