I did not find the German companies making them.  I am not a tool specialist. But frequently I pick up lots where I find some vintage items. Some of them are cleaned 24 hours in white vinegar and then sprayed with rust protection. I do not completely refurbish them. Just clean them so you can see what brand and model it is.  I keep them stored well and before sending them out I at times give another clean up.
