This is a beautiful, authentic antique French Limoges porcelain mustache cup and saucer set. The underside of both pieces features the prestigious green underglaze factory mark belonging to Lazarus Straus & Sons (LS&S, also Lewis Straus & Sons) for the historic "La Seynie" factory in Limoges, France. This is a beautiful, authentic antique French Limoges porcelain mustache cup and saucer set. This Victorian/Edwardian era piece features a delicate hand-painted or transfer purple violet floral motif complemented by elegant, heavy gold gilt accents and stylized dripping gold trim inside the rim. The internal mustache guard is intact, designed during the era to protect a gentleman's styled facial hair from hot steam and wax melting while drinking tea or coffee. Makers Mark & Authenticity: The underside of both pieces features the prestigious green underglaze factory mark belonging to Lazarus Straus & Sons (LS&S, also Lewis Straus & Sons) for the historic "La Seynie" factory in Limoges, France. This specific mark features the intertwined "L" and "S" flanking a star and a ribbon banner reading "LIMOGES" over "FRANCE".
