This is an oversized library-scale shade, measuring approximately [20 5/8" across the bottom rim, making it a statement piece designed for a substantial multi-socket table lamp base. Eight (8) curved, bent panels of highly striking marbled caramel/cream slag glass. All glass panels are intact and beautifully variegated when illuminated. Metal Overlay & Filigree: The heavy cast metal framework is executed in a classic Art Nouveau motif. The overlay features elegant C-scrolls running along the borders, anchored by prominent stylized fan-shell (palmette) medallions centered along the bottom apron at each panel seam. Fitter: The top is fitted with a heavy, solid brass 3 ⅜-inch fitter collar. This wide ring is designed to sit securely flat inside a multi-socket table lamp basket/shade ring holder rather than dropping onto a standard finial rod. While the shade is unsigned (common for the era, as only bases were typically stamped), the design language, construction technique, and regional Hartford/Meriden foundry style strongly align with premium early 20th-century American maker, Edward Miller & Co., I believe.
