Has not been cleaned or polished.  The brooch is an unbranded artisan piece . The back features a circular metal cartouche bearing a simple "STERLING" hallmark. The lack of an accompanying trademark, name, or corporate symbol indicates it was crafted in a private silversmith workshop rather than by a large commercial costume jewelry firm. The densely set stones are true marcasites —small, faceted pieces of iron pyrite ("fool's gold") cut into tiny metallic pyramids to capture and bounce light like muted diamonds.  Condition: Pre-owned - Good.
