Made from richly woven fabric, the intricate patchwork-style design combines Japanese floral and traditional textile motifs in deep blue, burnt orange, green and cream. Opened out, the bag measures a generous 24 cm (9½") square. Fold it in half and the metal frame forms the top of an elegant, compact clutch — a clever Japanese design that is both practical and beautiful. The interior is finished with dark blue cotton lining, while the dark metal frame has a traditional kiss-lock closure. Originally designed as an accessory for wearing with kimono, its wonderful textile and simple shape make it just as appealing with contemporary fashion. Vintage Condition: Probably unused.
