Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic pair of turn-of-the-century German bisque porcelain figurines manufactured by the Rudolstadt Works (Straus & Söhne) between 1895 and 1924.  This companion pair features a classic 18th-century period-style man in a tricorn hat and a woman holding a tambourine. Both are hand-painted in soft pastel tones with delicate gilded gold-gilt accents over an unglazed matte bisque finish. Markings: Both figures feature the authentic underglaze blue stamped crown over the "RW" diamond shield logo on the bottom. The bases feature the original incised factory mold shape numbers (3460/27 on the female base.  Approx. 16 inches tall Condition Details: These are true 100+ year-old antiques in good "as-found" estate condition: - No hairline cracks, broken fingers, or restorations. - The woman is in very good antique condition with light surface display dust and shelf scuffs around the bottom rim. - The man features a very minor, shallow flake / flea bite along the bottom lower rim of the rocky base. It is a surface flake that blends into the molded rock texture and does not affect the stability or display quality of the piece.  - Both pieces display minor paint wear to the gold-gilt and pastel accents, typical of authentic unglazed bisque of this age.
