The gold tone still has a nice bright finish; the piece has preserved well. The locket is approx 1 3/4". Multi layered carving utilizing the depth of the carnelian shell, against a warm reddish-brown background. Beautiful vintage carved shell cameo locket featuring an unusually detailed full-figure classical maiden rather than the more commonly seen profile portrait. The gold-tone pendant opens to reveal a hidden photo compartment, combining a traditional carved cameo with a keepsake locket., on an architectural background. Multi layered carving utilizing the depth of the carnelian shell, against a warm reddish-brown background.  No flaws to the visible eye, and the gold tone is very nice.  However, the purchaser may want to take a light brush to the face, may need a bit of surface cleaning.   I defer to the purchaser to determine if they want to clean it more or not.  The locket has a top opening mechanism and operates smoothly. Features a dual recessed interior compartment to hold 2 round keepsake photos.
