This is hand decorated on a blank of fine white china. The flowers are nestled in their green leaves to make them stand out. The scalloped rim of the gravy boat is trimmed in bold gold. The color palette used was: pink, blue, orange, purple, green and yellow. This oval gravy boat of The Mayfair pattern (#7619 White) looks so classy and elegant. CONDITION: While this oval gravy boat with an attached underplate is classified as used, the condition is good. We do find a flake on the underside of the underplate that barely shows from the top. We find no nicks, other chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. There appears to be absolutely no wear to the gold or paint and no crazing. Look in the photos to see this. This decorative oval gravy boat commands attention and is beautiful. DIMENSIONS: The oval gravy boat has an attached underplate measuring 9 1/2" x 6 3/8". The boat spout to spout is 7 1/2" with an overall width of 4" and a height of 4 3/8". The capacity of the boat is 16 ounces. HISTORY/MARKS: The Hutschenreuther porcelain story began when Karl Magnus Hutschenreuther, 1793-1845, discovered kaolin in northeastern Bavaria in 1814 where he established his company. His son Lorenz managed the Hohenberg porcelain factory from 1845-1857. He founded his own Hutschenreuther Porcelain Company in Selb in 1856 which became highly successful and 113 years later absorbed his father’s company. All of the Hutschenreuther Companies were trend setters of high quality porcelain. Hutschenreuther became known for the love of detail, distinctive brilliance of color, and lustrous beauty shown through the decorating of the fine porcelain pieces. The mark on this item is that of the Hutschenreuther Selb Germany LHS company which the Hutschenreuther website (porzellansammlung) cites as used 1939-1964. The importer is Pasco which was a special export mark used by C.M. Hutschenreuther. PASCO stands for Paul A. Straub company which was a New York importer for L.
