The bezel is a thick 14K yellow highly polished yellow gold that is hallmarked and tested as 14K. The bezel is a thick 14K yellow highly polished yellow gold that is hallmarked and tested as 14K.  The star of the pendant is the natural earth mined whole boulder opal.  The color play in this opal is amazing with a full spectrum of color with a dark matrix.  The back is open and reveals the whole natural opal.  This was probably a custom made piece as there is no maker hallmark.  I would date this pendant to the 1970s/80s.  It is presented in excellent condition with no damage or repairs.
