Transferware [cobalt blue] design on white porcelain.   Vtg 17 Piece Set OLD BLUE PHOENIX Japan Porcelain 6 CUPS 6 SAUCERS SUGAR BOWL Transferware [cobalt blue] design on white porcelain You will receive 17 pieces total in this lovely set- 6 Flat Coffee/Tea Cups Approx 3.75"Across x 2" high 6 Matching Saucer Plates Approx 5 3/8"Across 3 Small Snack Bowls- 2 are 5" across x 1 1/8" high larger bowl is 5.5" across x 1.5" high 1 Large Double Handled Sugar Bowl 1 Lid for sugar bowl Sugar Bowl is approx 5.75" Long 3.5" high with lid, opening is 2.5" The BLUE PHOENIX design was very popular in Japan from approx. 1930-1945 Very charming. Pretty trim around borders Excellent condition but for one of the 3 snack bowls has 2 flat chips under the rim edge. See last 2 pics. This is the only damage to the entire set- Pristine condition to all other 16 pieces- A gorgeous set! No other nicks, chips, scratches, foxing, or damage. 2 cups are slightly faded. Glossy rich cobalt blue color.
