Vintage 1950s Mechanical Scottie Dog Keychain Hard Plastic Moving Mouth Tail  Vintage circa 1950s mechanical Scottie dog keychain/charm , made from molded ivory/cream-colored hard plastic. This charming little Scottish Terrier is molded in a seated position with nicely detailed textured fur, pointed ears, raised tail, collar and characteristic Scottie profile. Unlike an ordinary molded dog charm, this example has an articulated/mechanical construction . The mouth is made from separate moving pieces, and this model is known with a mechanism that allows the mouth and tail to move up and down . The dog retains its vintage metal ball-chain attachment and connector , making it suitable for use as a keychain, zipper pull, purse charm or collectible novelty. From the ruler shown in the photographs, the dog measures approximately 1½ inches long , not including the chain. The cream-colored plastic has developed the mellow ivory coloration often seen on early molded plastic toys and novelties of this period. No manufacturer's name or advertising mark is visible in the photographs. Condition: Good vintage condition for its age. There is normal surface wear, light discoloration/yellowing, small spots and handling marks consistent with decades of use and storage. Molded fur details remain strong. The metal ball chain shows age-related darkening and wear. Please inspect all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. Mechanical feature: The mouth is visibly articulated.
