This is a vintage "Hostess Cheese Board" (Item #0012) distributed by Westwood Import Co., Inc. of San Francisco, California, and manufactured in Japan. Design:  Features a dark wood-look board fitted with a recessed stainless steel serving tray (perfect for crackers or nuts) and a beautiful central ceramic tile cutting surface. The tile is decorated with a vibrant, stylized MCM bird (rooster/phoenix) and floral motif. Accessories:  Includes the original "Finest Stainless Steel Knife" featuring a curved blade and a forked tip for serving. The knife is cleverly held in place on the board by a built-in magnet. Condition:  New Old Stock (NOS). This set is incredibly well-preserved and remains factory-sealed in its original clear plastic shrink wrap! The wrap is beginning to tear in a few places, and a seam on the edge is beginning to pull apart.  It comes housed in the original two-piece cardboard box with the retro retail label fully intact on the lid. The box itself shows some minor age-related shelf wear, but the board and contents are pristine and untouched. This is a perfect, time-capsule piece for any collector of Mid-Century kitchenware or a fantastic retro hostess gift! Condition: New.
