Crown Staffordshire Footed Cup & Saucer English Rose Pink Grey w/Gold 1930-1974 a,a:hover,a:active,a:visited {color:#050df0 !important} Crown Staffordshire Footed Cup & 2 Saucers Floral w/Black Panels 1915-1930 Elegant Decorative Set of FOOTED CUP & 2 SAUCERS, FLORAL Pattern in BLACK PANELS from Fenton, Staffordshire, England, Smooth  Rims & Fancy Handle, circa 1915-1930 DESCRIPTION:  This set was skillfully designed with the floral pattern in black panels using a palette of pink green, yellow and blue with black on the high white porcelain.  The overall quality of the design is quite professional.  The black trim on the rims, foot and the handle is very shiny and accents the fancy handle. CONDITION:  While this set is classified as used, its condition is superb.  There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, or hairlines.  Overall, the trim is glossy black.  See the photos. DIMENSIONS:  The cup has a diameter of 3 1/8" and has a height of 2 1/4".  The saucer's diameter is 5 1/2" with a height of 3/4". HISTORY/MARKS:  Thomas Allen Green and Spencer Green were brothers who bought out other family members in 1876 of a business that could be traced back to 1801.  The pottery was located at Minerva Works in Fenton, Staffordshire, England.  The company traded as T.A. & S. Green until incorporated as Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Co. Ltd in 1903.  The company was an important exporter to North America and continued limited production during WWII.  In 1946, the company purchased Heron Cross Pottery to expand production.  In 1948, the name was changed to Crown Staffordshire China Co. Ltd.  The firm continued to be owned & operated by the Green family until 1964 when Semart Importing Co. (the US distributor of Crown Staffordshire) acquired the firm.  The Crown Staffordshire name was used until it became part of the Wedgwood Group in 1974.  The mark is identified by Geoffrey A. Godden’s (Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks) as #1149 which was used in the 1906-1930 time period.  The registration mark #646543 was entered in book in 1915., Th sets the circa to be 1915-1930.
