This set was produced by Tashiro Shoten, a well-known Japanese exporter active during the 1920s–1930s. A charming pair of Japanese lusterware ceramics from the early 20th century, featuring a teapot and matching sugar bowl. Each piece is hand‑painted with delicate white plum blossoms on tan and lavender backgrounds, finished with a soft iridescent glaze typical of the period. The underside of the teapot bears a faint “Made in Japan” mark, dating the set to the interwar years (circa 1921–1941). These pieces were part of a larger tea service once owned by the seller’s mother, born 1927 — a lovely heirloom with genuine vintage character.
