The large sprays of vivid fruits flow from the center towards the rim of the plates. The fruits are nestled in green leaves. The rims are trimmed in wide, bold gold that has no wear. See the photos. CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, the condition is superb. There is no age appropriate wear to the gold trim on the rims. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, crazing or hairlines. There is no wear on the colors and no utensil marks. DIMENSIONS: The plates have a diameter of 8 1/8" with a height of 3/4". HISTORY/MARKS: The porcelain company was founded in 1913 by Eduard Haberländer in Windischeschenbach, Bavaria, Germany. Eschenbach Porcelain’s product range had been limited to simple ware for every day use due to lack of demand during the First World War. Then the business thrived after 1918 until unexpected market problems in 1929 forced the owners to sell. The company was functioned as a branch of Oscar Schaller Werke & Co. until in 1990 ownership transferred to the Thuringian Triptis group. In 2005, production finally stopped. In June 2005, the company was saved by the investment group under Rolf Frowein which reorganized the company and integrated it into the Eschenbach Porzellan group, a sub-division of Frowein Investment. On August 31st 2022, it became known to the public that the Eschenbach Porzellan Group was in dire trouble after gas prices in Germany had greatly increased. This made economic production with gas-fired kilns impossible. A few days later, Frowein announced that the company would cease production at the end of the year causing over 90 employees to lose their jobs. The company started to sell off the remaining goods in January 2023. The long history of large scale porcelain production in Triptis had finally come to an end. However, their website was still active in June 2024. It seems that the company used "Eschenbach" as a trade name. Baronet China was a brand or specific line of porcelain produced by a company, with the name "Baronet" likely referring to a particular design or pattern of Eschenbach tableware. The mark on this set is attributed to the Winterling Bavaria, Germany Eschenbach Brand by the website PM&M (Porcelain Marks & More) as a mark used in the 1945-1970’s.
