The grand main hall anchors the composition with its Western-influenced Meiji-era architecture: creamy rendered façade, red-tiled hipped roofs, and arched entrance portico. Formal parterre gardens in the foreground display clipped topiary and ornamental flower beds laid out in symmetrical lobes, intersected by pale gravel paths along which a solitary figure strolls beneath an iron lamp post. To the right, a elegant glass-and-iron greenhouse pavilion — the Tennoji Botanical Garden conservatory — glows with its distinctive scarlet dome. A tranquil reflecting pool borders the scene at bottom, completing a picture of Meiji-Taisho civic pride.
