This unique portrait captures two dapper young men sitting on a wooden bench inside a photographic studio styled as a seaside resort.  The painted canvas backdrop beautifully depicts a coastal ocean scene complete with sailing ships visible on the horizon. The men are dressed in exceptional Gilded Age style: one wears a tweed flat cap with a patterned bow tie, while the other sports a light-colored fedora and a high starched collar.  The plate features clipped top corners, characteristic of images processed to fit standard Victorian-era photo albums or paper display mats. CONDITION REPORT: Image Quality: Good clarity and deep contrast. The details on the men's faces, distinct neckwear, and the ships in the backdrop are well-preserved.
