The body decorated with stylized lotuses on a yellow ground and with ruyi-head motifs beneath the gilt bronze rim. A fine antique Chinese cloisonne enamel tankard. In a tapering cylindrical form with an ear-shaped gilt bronze handle. The body decorated with stylized lotuses on a yellow ground and with ruyi-head motifs beneath the gilt bronze rim. The gilt bronze foot rim with incised scroll devices. Dating to the early 19th century or possibly the earlier Qianlong period (1736 - 1795). With a label to the base for the E&J Frankel Collection. Simply a wonderful antique Chinese cloisonne tankard! Date: 18th or 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is some light edge wear and fritting to the bronze throughout, some small discoloration to the handle, and some small spots of loss to the turquoise interior. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
