The coolest part: most shoulder-head dolls were glued onto a cloth or leather body, with china hands and feet attached. You have here an absolutely perfect blonde, blue-eyed Hertwig Low Brow with an interesting twist: Hertwig actually sometimes SOLD HEADS SEPARATELY—and an all-cloth body could be sewn at home, for mothers looking to save money but still give their child a doll!  The coolest part: most shoulder-head dolls were glued onto a cloth or leather body, with china hands and feet attached. But the 'make at home' doll heads have two holes on front and back of the shoulders, meant for stitching onto the home-made cloth body. (Pet Name Hertwigs do not have those stitching holes, as they were glued onto the doll’s body.) It is so rare to find a Hertwig with an all-cloth handmade body— and whoever crafted this one was an absolutely superb seamstress. Look at the design and stiching used to create the doll's ankles and feet...just genius.  She’s in superb condition. No rips, no tears, no stuffing coming out; perfect—and don’t even get me started on her dress. Her dress and undergarments are beautifully designed and expertly stitched: a late 1800’s style dress with a darling V-shaped bodice, and TINY hand-crocheted lace around the neck.
