Original Gesso & Wood Aesthetic Period Frame frame size: 31” by 45” Gorgeous, intricate gesso delights in this Aesthetic Period frame! This large frame featured gilted gesso with hues : delicate greens and pinks highlight the brassy gold! This exceptional frame is the perfect accent to an antique painting or portrait! This is an antique frame, created during the height of the Aesthetic Period (ca.1880) from wood and gilted gesso. The frame has no glass. The piece comes ready to hang! The frame comes with original Gustav Richter’s 1879 lithograph of Queen Louise of Prussia. This piece features a lovely black and bronze finish that accentuates the frame nicely. It can be easily removed if you choose to use the frame for another piece. Condition: This antique frame is in VERY GOOD condition! There are a few nicks to the gesso that do not greatly detract from the piece. There are, what appears to be, some small missing elements in the edge areas, as shown in the photos. These can likely easily be touched up or left as-is to preserve the antique patina. The frame is structurally sound and comes ready to hang!
