The fish also has a transparent red glass eye. The pieces of glass are soldered together by using "the Tiffany technique" which involves wrapping and soldering the individual glass pieces together. There are substantial pieces of raw sheet copper that have been crafted into the top dorsal fin, the bottom pelivc fin, and the trailing caudal (tail) fin. This beautiful stained glass and copper angelfish reminds me of the Rainbow Fish from the famous children's book by that name.  I do not know the name of the artist.  The body of this fish is made of dichroic-coated art glass, which creates a shifting, rainbow-like shimmer when the light reflects.  The color palette shifts with the light, transitioning between teal, emerald green, magenta, and soft violet depending on the angle of the light.  The fish also has a transparent red glass eye. T he pieces of glass are soldered together by using  "the Tiffany technique" which involves wrapping and soldering the individual glass pieces together.   There are substantial pieces of raw sheet copper that have been crafted into the top dorsal fin, the bottom pelivc fin, and the trailing caudal (tail) fin.  All are hand-cut, shaped and textured from sheet copper.  The fish measures approximately 7 inches from the top of the dorsal fin to the base of the pelvic fin.  It measures approximately 6 inches from the mouth of the fish start of the copper tailfin.  Finally, it measures about 8 3/4 inches on the diagonal from the top of the dorsal fin diagonally to the base of the tail fin.  There is a small wire attached that can be removed or adjusted to allow the fish to hang.  I don't know the exact age, but AI estimates the late 1990s based on extreme popularity of this stained glass and style at that time.   The glass is in very good condition with no cracks or chips and the color is bright and vibrant.  The copper is also in good condition; there is some age-related tarnish but no gouges or cracking.  The metal came used to hold the pieces of glass in place is also in good condition.  See photos for more details. very effort will be made to minimize the environmental impact of packing and shipping each item. *REDUCE*                               *REUSE*                                      *RECYCLE*           Condition: Used.
