We are honored to have acquired this entire archive. Many of the lobby cards are still in the complete issued sets. After the Teocali closed, it remained abandoned for years. While many of these are in unused condition, most were used. Measures 12” X 16”     Teocali Cinema Dolores Hidalgo 1950-1990 The lobby cards listed here are part of an exclusive collection of vintage posters and lobby cards from: the Teocali Cinema in Dolores Hidalgo. More than just collectibles, these pieces are fragments of history, rescued straight from the very heart of the theater. The Teocali Cinema was the cultural soul of Dolores Hidalgo. Its name, which means "House of God" in Nahuatl, was perfect for a temple of cinema that inspired awe. With its stunning Art Deco facade, the Teocali was a portal to dreams for generations of families. This collection tells the complete story of the Teocali, from its mid-century glory to its final function. The movie history includes a fascinating secret: the original owner operated a print shop in the same location. While the vast majority of this archive consists of official posters and lobby cards distributed by the studios, it also includes a handful of extremely rare unauthorized flyers, which he printed locally—bold artifacts of his entrepreneurial spirit. The true scope of the collection is impressive, tracing the evolution of filmmaking from the 1960s to the early 2000s. Alongside iconic Mexican films, there are the Hollywood blockbusters that captivated audiences in Dolores Hidalgo, such as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Terminator, She's Having a Baby, and many more. After the Teocali closed, it remained abandoned for years. Until recently, the family tasked with cleaning out its contents discovered a time capsule: a cache of more than 2,000 original items. We are honored to have acquired this entire archive. Every poster and lobby card you see here was obtained directly from the theater's original inventory, rescued from the building where they were first displayed.
