At the upper end is the “Holy Savior" The lower part depicts the city of Jerusalem, Mount Calvary and the head of Adam On the left plate is the Mother of God and St. Martha, On the right is the apostle John the Theologian and the martyr Longinus the centurion.  In the lower part is Mount Calvary and the head of Adam. The back of the cross is decorated with a floral ornament  in the form of a vine and flowers     Age: over 170 years old Size: 6.5 x 4.375 x 0.1875 inches 165 x 108 x 5 mm Date: middle of the19th century Moscow, Russia   Description & Origin:  Antique original museum quality Antique Russian Orthodox Enamel Bronze Crucifix "Crucifixion of Christ with the coming" (Enamel Cast Bronze), Moscow, the second half of the XIX century. The casting model was made by the Old Believer Master, Moscow, Russia. However, on this crucifix, typical, characteristic signs of Moscow’s plastic art are visible, attesting to the Old Believer talented master, on the models he created, in particular, the typical, elaborate and expressive faces of the saints, and in this case the crucified Jesus Christ. The image and a full description of the same, but bigger size, Bronze Crucifix are published in the book "RUSSIAN COPPER CASTING", selected monuments in the collections of the Urals. Publishing house "Artefact", Ekaterinburg, 2008.   Condition: The Bronze Crucifix is offered in very good overall condition with some minor surface crazing and with small cracks, considering the age of the item. Beautiful age-old patina.
