The three towers of the green B&G mark that appears on the back of each piece derive from the coat of arms of the city of Copenhagen. Maker : Denmark's Bing and Grondahl, the maker of this lovely set of 8 cups and saucers, has produced superb quality ceramics since it was created in 1853. The three towers of the green B&G mark that appears on the back of each piece derive from the coat of arms of the city of Copenhagen.    Design : The gold trimmed pattern - called Sea Shell - is a beautiful expression of classic Scandinavian design, with a blue textured "fish scale" band that morphs to white. It's very similar to the Seagull pattern, but without the seagull. The cups and saucers in this set have the number 475. Condition : Fifteen of the 16 pieces are in excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs, crazing or wear. One cup has light staining inside - that's shown in the photo with the red arrow. Size : The saucers are 5 7/8 inches wide. The cups are 3 1/2 inches wide at the opening and 2 1/2 inches tall.
