This substantial statement piece features a large, highly polished square black stone believed to be onyx , surrounded by an unusual geometric border of raised silver beads and square accents. The bold dimensional design has a wonderful Mexican modernist appearance. The reverse is fitted with both a locking pin mechanism and a large pendant bail , allowing the piece to be worn either as a brooch or as a pendant. The black stone has the appearance of onyx but has not been professionally gemologically tested , so it is described conservatively as a black stone believed to be onyx.
