This is a lovely Lusterware cream and sugar set made by LDB Co., Bavaria, Germany. If you look closely you can see that the underglaze is not quite even, there are also areas of pale, periwinkle blue colored glaze mixing with the gray, especially around the top and a tiny hint of purple throughout although that may be part of the overglaze. This is a lovely Lusterware cream and sugar set made by LDB Co., Bavaria, Germany.  The pieces are in excellent condition with no signs of wear, chips, cracks, or crazing.   It is hard to capture the color in photographs because they are so shiny, so I will do my best to describe it: it is a pale gray, almost silver color, it reminds me of a light gray pearl.  If you look closely you can see that the underglaze is not quite even, there are also areas of pale, periwinkle blue colored glaze mixing with the gray, especially around the top and a tiny hint of purple throughout although that may be part of the overglaze.  Interestingly they pick up a bit of the color of what ever they are reflecting as well, so if they are near a window they might pick up a tiny bit of green from the trees outside or pink from the table cloth.  It makes them blend with whatever they are near.  The painted detail around the tops is a pale, golden tan color that with the shininess almost looks like gold.  There are a few black or dark brown specks under the glaze that are part of the original production process.  From the style I am guessing these were probably made in the 1920's, but I am happy to be corrected if anyone knows more about them.  These are very attractive with a nice shape.  They are also very tactile pieces, I find myself constantly wanting to pick them up and hold them and feel how smooth they are. Creamer is 2 3/4" tall x  5 1/8" long from spout to handle.  Sugar Bowl 3 3/4" tall with the lid  and 6" long handle to handle.
