These two angels come with something rare in the world of wood carving: complete, original documentation. Both pieces were carved by Anton Reiser, Holzbildhauermeister, Oberammergau — registered master carver, certified by the St. Lukasverein, the Gemeinde Oberammergau, and the Bayerische Landesinnung. The original certificate (Reg.-Nr. 0003739, signed by Reiser himself) and the original handwritten order form from December 1990 are included. The order specifies: Engel mit Geige, natur, Lindenholz, 35 cm — one priced at 820 Deutsche Mark. Delivered April 1991. One plays the violin. One plays the lute.
