This piece dates to the late 1800s and comes with its original “Before Marriage” lithograph copyrighted by Muller, Luchsinger & Co., New York, and signed Ponson. Frame Details : Exterior dimensions: approx. 31" × 27" Interior opening: approx. 20" × 16" Depth: approx. 3" Construction: Solid wood with applied gesso and gold gilt details, carved decorative border Era: Late Victorian, late 19th century Condition : The gesso has areas of chipping and loss, particularly along the bottom edge (see photos). Some scuffs and wear along the outer edges of the frame consistent with age. Back board has a couple of splits, typical of age and use (see photos). Lithograph shows age spots, staining, and small rips along the top edge. Glass has light surface scratches but no cracks or chips. Still presents beautifully with strong antique character. Notes : Being sold as found, with the antique lithograph included. Frame alone is a wonderful decorative piece, perfect for period restoration projects, display, or reuse with another artwork.
