They are very collectable due to their historical significance as the early attempts of the world famous "Windsor" chairs.  Very rare and unique chairs!    As I side note, in the southern US, these chairs were called "Cock Fighting" chairs. The participants would sit in the chairs facing backwards while resting their arms on the top and holding their money in one hand and a good strong drink in the other.
