Vintage French Painting, “View of Montmartre”, Paris, Sacré -Coeur Basilica, Church, Signed T his vintage French oil painting on canvas shows people walking in the rue de l’Abreuvoir in Montmartre in Paris, with a view of the Sacré -Coeur basilica in the background. On the lefthand side, above a bright red awning, we see the sign for a wine and liquor store, “ Vins et Liqueurs ”. On the wall on the righthand side, the artist has invented signs with arrows that show the way to the “ Sacré Coeur ” and the “ Moulin Rouge ”. As one of the most picturesque streets in Montmartre, rue de l’Abreuvoir has been painted by many artists throughout the years and is especially well known from paintings of it by Maurice Utrillo . This painting is titled “ Montmartre ” and signed “ Dupin ” and is in very good condition with only normal signs of age. The patinated wooden frame is also in good condition with only a slight loss on one corner.   Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
